Should your kids be on Facebook?

Parents are you being asked "When can I join Facebook?" by your teens and tweens.

Although Facebook itself clearly states that the site is not for children under the age of 13, evidence suggests that many kids lie about their age and open Facebook accounts at age 12 or even younger.

Attacks on the Windows Help and Support Center

Microsoft has been monitoring for active attacks on the Windows Help and Support Center vulnerability (CVE-2010-1885) since the advisory was released on June 10th. At first, they only saw legitimate researchers testing innocuous proof-of-concepts. Then, early on June 15th, the first real public exploits emerged. Those initial exploits were targeted and fairly limited. In the past week, however, attacks have picked up and are no longer limited to specific geographies or targets, and we would like to ensure that you are aware of this broader distribution.

Another Facebook attack!

Avoid clicking any links saying "99% of people can’t watch this video for more than 25 seconds."

Today, AVG discovered an interesting bit of maliciousness on Facebook. The initial lure is a link that says that 99% of people can’t watch this video for more than 25 seconds.

When you click the link, you are confronted with another screen that offers to show you a video, but, for the video to load, you need to copy and paste some code into the browser address bar.

Facebook Phishing... its back.

Again, a rogue adware installer Facebook apps are trying to get victims, but with a twist this time.

If you click on the bad link, instead of just being taken to the app page, it first takes you to a FAKE login page. But remember that you are already logged into Facebook.

If you are not paying attention, you get phished as well as nailed by the app. Double trouble!
